Habitat for Humanity Opens a 'ReStore' Do It Yourself Center in Anchorage

Habitat for Humanity opened a ReStore in Anchorage that sells new, used and salvaged building materials. Much of the inventory is donated by local contractors and building supply retailers.

Part of the goal of the ReStore is to keep things out of the landfill and make them available for the community at an affordable price. The items are 50 -70 percent off the normal price. They offer a wide variety of building and home improvement supplies.

If you have items to donate call Colin at 743-8060 and he will determine if the ReStore can use them. Pick up of the items may be available in Anchorage. Donors will be provided with a tax deduction receipt.

So we now have the ability to preserve the environment, receive tax benefits, save money and help Habitat for Humanity.
