VCRS Gets Proclamation
 

On Tuesday, April 5th, the Mat-Su Borough officially proclaimed April as "Resource Awareness" month in honor of your community recycling center! Read the proclamation here.

 

Our New Green Building
 

VCRS has moved into our permanent recycling facility just down the street from our old interim site. We are located at 9465 E. Chanlyut Circle, next to the animal shelter at the Central Landfill. The all new Community Recycling Center functions as a collection site and processing plant for recyclable items. Learn more about our Green Building right here!

 

 

Annual Events & Celebrations

 

• Alaska State Fair 10 days: August to September VCRS partners with the Alaska State Fair and Greenstar to "recycle" the fair

• Mat Su Home Show 3 days: April to early March VCRS provides recycling opportunities at the Home Show and provides information to home-show-goers about VCRS and recycling.

• Earth Day: April 22nd VCRS holds a "fun"draising event on Earth Day to celebrate and raise money for our programs.

• America Recycles Day: November 15th VCRS celebrates this day by promoting the benefits of recycling.

• Mat Su Recycles Day: Winter Solstice (December 21st) VCRS's special day to commemorate one of our founders, Teslin Phillips, and celebrate light, hope and recycling.
